Summary of Benefits

Wentworth Institute of Technology offers eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package that provides health coverage, financial incentives, security, and a positive life/work balance. (Benefit-eligible employees work 20 or more hours per week in regular positions.)

MEDICAL

  • Choice of two health plans: Tufts EPO or Tufts PPO
  • 60% of premium paid for individual or family
  • Deductions taken on a pre-tax basis

DENTAL

  • Coverage through CIGNA
  • 50% of premium paid for individual or family
  • Coverage includes 3 cleanings per calendar year
  • Deductions taken on a pre-tax basis

LIFE INSURANCE

  • 2X Salary term life insurance
  • Optional insurance in increments of $10,000 available for employee, spouse and children

PENSION

  • After one year of employment, a contribution of 10% of the employee's base salary is made to TIAA-CREF
  • Service requirement is waived if employee has 5 years participation in a pension plan from a non-profit educational institution
  • Additional employee contributions can be made through a Supplemental Retirement Annuity with TIAA-CREF

LONG TERM DISABILTIY

  • Paid monthly premium for The Hartford Insurance.
  • Employees are eligible after one year of employment

TUITION ASSISTANCE

  • Employees may take up to 8 credits/semester immediately
  • After one year of service, 50% of tuition is waived for spouses who wish to take up to 8 credits/semester
  • After one year of service, 100% tuition is waived for dependent children who meet enrollment requirements
  • After 2 years of service, Wentworth will pay up to the equivalent of a Wentworth credit for up to 8 credits/semester for job related courses at other accredited schools

MBTA PASS PROGRAM

  • Wentworth will pay up to $84.50 per month for the purchase of a T-Pass providing no parking permit

  • Dependent or elder care expenses may be deducted from paychecks on a pre-tax basis
  • Medical care expenses deducted from paycheck before taxes
